How can I setup the Remote Printing feature?

Note – Supported only on Windows XP & 2000 PCs.

First determine which printers you want to print to. Before starting the Remote Printer Wizard, install the installation files/drivers of these printers onto your I'm InTouch PC,  or ensure that your printer is already in the Windows Add Printer Wizard.

To setup Remote Printing:

1. Right click the green satellite in your taskbar and select "Setup Remote Printer".

2. On the I'm InTouch Remote Printer Setup screen, click Add.

3. The Add Printer Wizard opens. Follow the instructions provided at the bottom of each screen.

4. On the Local or Network Printer screen, select Local Printer and ensure Plug and Play auto detection is not selected. Select Next.

5. On the Select the Printer Port screen, ensure IIT Port is highlighted and select Next.

6. Select the Manufacturer and Printer,  then select Next.

7. On the Use Existing Driver Screen, choose "Keep existing driver". Select Next.

8. On the Name Your Printer screen, the printer will be given the name IIT (short for I'm InTouch). If desired, change the name. This will be presented as one of your printers during a remote session. Select Next.

9. On the Printer Sharing screen, select "Do not share this printer" and click Next.

10. On the Print test Page screen, select NO. Then select Next.

11. Completing Add Printer Screen. Your printer is set up to print when you are in a My Desktop session.

How do I configure my Internet Security Software to work with I'm InTouch?

A remote access session, which delivers data from your PC to the remote location,  is flagged by firewalls or security software as suspicious. Therefore, it is necessary to configure your firewall to trust I’m InTouch. Below are the configuration guidelines for different firewall manufacturers:

Norton Internet Security 2008 / Norton Personal Firewall

Norton Internet Security 2006 / Norton Personal Firewall

How do I stop anti-virus alerts on my I'm InTouch PC when my incoming e-mail is detected to contain viruses?

Norton Anti-Virus 2004 may detect a virus while downloading emails onto your host PC. When this happens,  a virus detection message window appears asking the user to respond. This message window halts delivery of all inbound emails until a response is provided. To ensure that this Message Window does not interfere with a remote access session, please configure your Norton Anti-Virus 2004 settings.
