Key Features
Remote PC Wake-UpRemote Wake-Up allows an employee to remotely power on their previously shut down computer by securely login from a web browser to the I'm InTouch SE wake-up server. While existing Wake-on-LAN solutions allow network administrators to remotely power on a computer from within the corporate LAN, this patent pending technology allows remote employees to wake up their powered down office PC from a remote location, not connected to the LAN, so that they may begin a remote session.  In many security conscious and environmentally concerned corporate environments, employees are instructed to shutdown their unattended PC before leaving the office. With the ability to "wake-up" a PC, this technology complies with corporate policies regarding security and energy consumption, eliminating the need for a PC to be left powered on for an extended period of time, in order to be able to access it from a remote location. System ComponentsThe solution is comprised of: - The wake-up server (a standard component of the SE server machine housed on the customer business premise - At least one PC on the LAN designated by the SE System Administrator as the "wake-up proxy" and that will be "always on" - The remote users PC with hardware that supports standard Wake-on-LAN functionality Other Key FeaturesPocket PC users securely login to their PC running the I'm InTouch service using an Internet browser, and can use their proprietary business applications, check and send email and access their networks. Remote printing gives you the ability to print any document on your distant computer to your local printer.  Remotely view and run any application on your distant computer. Once
you have logged in, you will have a complete view of the remote PC, including
applications, files and networked devices.
